Health and Safety

Classes in Hackney Borough

The Health and Safety of your child is important at Wing Chun Self Defence. We wish to provide a secure environment for children to train in.

This safeguarding policy needs to be read in conjunction with our application form.

First aid – any injuries requiring first aid are recorded in an accident book by the instructor of the class.

DBS checks and first aid training are required for instructors to prevent and manage risk.

New staff are required to have a DBS check.

Our membership form requires the parent/ carer to state any medical requirements of the child in their care, this should also be made clear to the instructor. A parent/ carer is required/ expected to stay in the class.

For example, if a child has epileptic seizures, a parent/ carer is required and expected to stay in class to be responsible for their child.

No photography or video is allowed except by the instructor. Photography and videos can and will be used on our social media and website to promote our classes and activities.

Social services will be contacted if there is a suspicion of a child being abused or harmed.

Gloves, head guards and body armour must be worn whilst engaging in sparring or any other activity or situation that the instructor has instructed that they are required.

It is the parent/ carers responsibility to ensure that the child under their care and supervision in class is equipped for whatever the lesson may require.

Any concerns or complaints about an instructor can be raised with Sifu in writing to sasselfdefence@gmail.com

If you are ejected from a Wing Chun Self Defence class, a reason is not required or expected to be provided by the teachers or staff in any situation.

Parents/students are expected to read this document and by training with Wing Chun Self Defence, you agree to such terms and conditions of our service.
